Playsnd – Play MacOS Sound FIles Without iTunes

If you miss double-clicking MacOS Sound Files (type ‘sfil’) to play them from the Finder, try installing the Playsnd faceless background application.

Use the OS X Get Info box to tell the Finder to open these files with Playsnd, and from then on, you can double-click sound files and play them without opening any foreground applications.
