Aaron Peterson recounts the naming of his computers:
I named my iBook to match the names of my other Macs…Big ‘Pooter (B&W G3), Lime ‘Pooter (Lime iMac), and ‘Lil ‘Pooter (Blueberry iBook).
I asked a Wintel user if he named his computers at home…You should have seen the look on his face! 🙂
Windows users must think we’re crazy to give computers names and personalities, but in the world of UNIX sys admins, it’s common to give servers names such as Apollo, Zeus, and Hermes, as a recentSlashDot thread reveals. Perhaps we just have a more personal relationship with our computers than Windows users.
