PowerPage, Live in Concert

Now that the Apple `Books are full-fledged musical instruments — and some of your PowerPage staff are hitting the road gigging with them (and you thought we spent all our time just obsessing about luggage), it’s only natural that we start keeping track of Apple-based music performances. Click read more for the latest performances in NYC and Philly, including your intrepid associate editor. And e-mail me if you’re gigging with your `Book; I’d love to make this a regular feature.

Saturday night I’ll be performing with choreographer Kathy Westwater around 8pm as part of the weekend-long Improvised & Otherwise festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, around 8p. I’ll be running Ableton Live under OS X — review coming this Friday (and now you can hear it in action!). Find me afterwards and tell me you’re a PowerPager! Details at that site. You can catch o.blaat, who was featured in the Wired article we covered this week, at The Knitting Factory Tuesday 4/30 10p, 74 Leonard St. NYC. O.blaat clued us into some visiting Austrians here in NYC; check out Phonotaktik NYC. And Sunday nights portable musicians get together at “Share” at openair, 121 St. Mark’s Pl. between Ave. A & 1st Ave. (The party was also highlighted in that Wired article.)

Loyal Philadelphia readers lucky enough to reside in the city that gave us O’Grady’s PowerPage, you need not be o.blaat deprived: Friday May 3 she’s hitting your home for the gallery opening at Vox Populi Gallery, 1315 Cherry Street, 4th Floor, Philadelphia 19107.

New Yorkers in particular, drop me a line and maybe we can throw a PowerPage musical party at some point (already got that suggestion from a couple of you). This Macworld NY is out — I’ll be in Paris in July. (Anyone in Paris I should look up while I’m there?)

And let us know what cool music you’re creating / hearing on `Books!
