An image of the purported iPhone 6 Touch ID sensor has leaked.
Unfortunately, it’s not a radical departure from the current iPhone 5s iPhone sensor, save for where the screw holes are located.
Per French web site Nowhereelse.fr and Electronista, the part is thought to fit in the anticipated 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model.
Touch ID isn’t expected to evolve much for the iPhone 6. Sensors may become more durable, but have always been predicted to retain their current size and shape. The biggest change will come through software, since Apple is opening up Touch ID authorization to third-party apps.
