Rumor: Apple could announce fifth-gem iPad mini at October 30th media event

This could lead to something nifty.

From the depths of Rumorville, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that Apple is working on an update to the iPad Mini, and that long-awaited AirPower and updated AirPods could be released sometime in the next six months.

Those devices may or may not be mentioned at Apple’s October 30th media event in Brooklyn, but new iPad Pro models with USB-C ports are thought to be en route.

Kuo has stated that Apple will launch a new version of the iPad mini, which has not seen an update in several years. The analyst says the device will feature an upgraded processor and a lower-cost panel.

Kuo also stated that he did not know if Apple will announce the new iPad mini during the media event or launch it sometime later in the year/early next year.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
