Rumor: Apple Prepping Touch-Screen Controlled iPods for August

blackipod.jpg
It came from Rumorville, so it must be true:
An article over at DigiTimes has cited that Apple has ordered a batch of touch-screens earmarked for future generation iPods from Taiwanese manufacturer Wintek.
The article quotes an anonymous source which claims that Apple is about to launch a next-generation iPod video next month. Such an iPod would sport a touch screen panel similar to the iPhone’s.
DigiTimes also pointed out that Apple seems to be lining up touch-screen component deals with other manufacturers and has a similar arrangement with Balda, another touch screen manufacturer.
Neither Apple or Wintek were able to provide comments regarding the speculation.
