The beloved US$99 “One to One” tutoring sessions for Mac and iOS users at the Apple Store may be coming to an end. A recent rumor is currently stating that Apple is stopping the program to allow retail employees to focus on hosting a greater number of free workshops, which multiple people are able to attend at once.
The One to One program allowed users who bought a Mac to pay an additional US$99 for one year of Mac and iOS instruction. One to One sessions include 30 or 60 minute Personal Training sessions, 90-minute Group Training sessions, and 90-minute group-based Open Training sessions.
Apple is apparently planning to fold the One to One training into assorted free workshops. This comes amid larger changes to Apple’s teaching and retail methods. In the near future, workshops will be restructured around themes like “Discover” and “Create,” and will be more accessible on Apple’s main website.
It’s rumored that Apple will honor its existing One to One memberships until they expire, but won’t be selling new memberships to the program from here on in.
