Ryan Seacrest invests $1 million in his new iPhone case

typo-keyboards.pngWho would have thought he was also a tech entrepreneur? The “American Idol” host and guy who seems to do everything Ryan Seacrest just invested $1 million in his new iPhone attachment startup called the Typo Keyboard. It’s basically an iPhone case that adds a physical keyboard to the device. Their promo video is pretty good, and highlights a few of the cases pretty compelling features. By using the Typo Keyboard, there is no need for the iPhone’s touch keyboard to slide up, so you actually end up with more screen to view while you’re typing away. The physical keyboard is also illuminated which means it’ll still be easy to type in the dark. According to Business Insider;

“The idea originated because apparently Seacrest (and all his friends) used two phones: One with a keyboard for typing and correspondence and an iPhone for virtually everything else. After trying out and hating other keyboard models on the market, Seacrest and the team spent two years developing Typo.”

Seacrest co-founded the company with Show Media CEO Laurence Hallier and the duo expects to invest more than $5 million to continue to create variations on the attachment for other phones and tablets. The Typo Keyboard is expected to debut at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The keyboard case will initially be available for the iPhone 5 and 5S and can be preordered for $99.
