Safari User Interface Suggestions

Some GUI suggestions for my favorite browser. It might be more in keeping with OS X to use a drawer to show open URLs in Safari. With more and more Macs coming with wide aspect ratio displays, this would also conserve vertical space.


SafariSome GUI suggestions for my favorite browser. It might be more in keeping with OS X to use a drawer to show open URLs in Safari. With more and more Macs coming with wide aspect ratio displays, this would also conserve vertical space.

The same thumbnail that goes into the dock when minimizing a window could be used along with the name of the URL in a slide out drawer instead of using tabs. Open url’s that are in the Bookmarks Bar could change color as well. Just click on the thumbnail, name or bookmark to switch to an open URL.

The brushed metal theme should be an option along with Aqua, at least until Mail changes appearance. It might also make sense to alternatively replace the floating download window with a pull out drawer on the opposite side. The Toolbar should be customizable.
