Woo Hoo! There’s nothing like capacity! PowerBookResQ is the first out of the gate to offer 120GB 2.5-inch 5400RPM hard drives capable of being installed in PowerBooks and iBooks. The new 120GB Seagate mechanisms are a full 20 percent larger than the previously largest 100GB drive. The Seagate Momentus 5400.2 (model number ST9120821A) is the first 120GB notebook hard drive on the market AND it spins at 5400RPM with an 8MB cache.

PowerBookResQ offers a 24-hour hard drive upgrade service (including data transfer) for US$379 (120GB) or US$289 (100GB). MCE is offering a 4200RPM 100GB notebook hard drive for US$219.
PCWorld reported on the new Seagate Momentus hard drives back on 17 May 2005:

The Momentus-brand hard drive series includes a 120GB drive that spins at 5400 rpm and a 100GB drive that spins at 7200 rpm. This is the first time notebook drives with these combinations of rotational speeds and capacities have been announced by Seagate…
The 7200.1 series offers drives with 40GB, 60GB, and 80GB capacities as well as the 100GB version. All the drives in this series run at 7200rpm.
The 5400.2 series offers drives at 30GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, and 100GB capacities as well as the 120GB version, and all the drives run at 5400rpm.
