It’s sort of like a FitBit for your car.
And it includes a free travel cup and crash notification service.
Automatic has released the second generation of its Automatic Adapter, an adapter that plugs into the ODB-II port under your car’s dashboard. The Automatic then sends data via Bluetooth to your iOS or Android device, measuring things like driving speeds, acceleration, braking and other data prior to giving you a score for your driving.
Users can also get reports about how long and how much gas you’re using and how much it costs to drive to various places.
Finally, the Automatic can be used to help access data that’s generally only been accessible to mechanics and auto shop computers and might allow you to foresee potential problems with your vehicle before they surface.
The Automatic sells for $79.99 and is currently available at $20 off its normal retail price.
If you’ve tried the unit and have any feedback to offer, let us know in the comments.
