Sherlock II Takes On eBay

One of the most controversial features of Mac OS 9 may be Sherlock II, according to a story on Wired News. One of the key features of Sherlock II is that it can act as a personal shopper to find items across major e-commerce and auction sites, sorting them by price and availability. eBay objects to auction search engines and has asked several such services to ceast and desist from including eBay listings. Apple is the largest player by far to get involved in this arena. Nevertheless, a spokesperson from eBay has admitted that eBay has called Apple to open talks to get an idea of what Sherlock’s search will involve.
