Sony Announces New Flip PDA with Keyboard, Camera


Yes, it’s true. Sony likes to update their PDAs about every month or so. PowerPage Tokyo bureau chief Francis A. Boisvert sends us word about the new models:

They just announced some new Clie’s here in Japan today, the PEG-NR70 and NR70V, on sale March 23rd and mid April.

The PEG-NR70V:
Magnesium body, jog dial, Remote control stick, Memory Stick slot, Hi rez 320×480 Wide TFT Color Screen, Dragonball SuperVZ 66MHz, built in keyboard, 300 degree rotating CMOS color camera, and software keyboard. Software includes Audio Player (ATRAC3/MP3 files), PhotoPaint, PhotoStand, World Alarm Clock, Xiino Web browser, Remote Commander (IR device to control all your AV equipment), Navin’ You Pocket (Map reader), ATOK (Japanese Front End Processor), standard PIM software, MS Import/Export and MS Backup. In addition, Sony announced a new Memory Stick Bluetooth module, the PEGA-MSB1, on sale March 23rd which can be used with most of the current Clie’s. Also announced was a Compact Flash adapter, the PEGA-CF70 for the newly announced NR-70 series Clies which allows you to plug in the popular CF wireless cards for 32K to 128K speed access to the Internet and email.
