Sony Ericsson T610 – Day Two

Second day of owning a Sony Ericsson T610, not as eventful as the first, but a nice tip for moving those Entourage contacts into Address Book so you can iSync ’em to your phone.

In visiting with some people it seems that the display issue I have where it ‘wiggles’ a bit, almost like the light is turning off and on really fast, is not normal. This will mean another trip out to Massachusetts tomorrow so I can swap the phone for another and hope it doesn’t do the same thing.
T-Mobile is having a hard time with GPRS lately, service is intermittent and it’s really getting annoying. This is the third day of problems up here in the Ocean State. I could be fashionable and blame Blaster/Nachi/WormDuJour, but that’d be giving Microsoft a little too much credit, I think. (I hope!) Still trying to see how the email client can check my email for me every few minutes but I think my problems are related to GPRS being so unreliable.
Someone asked how I could get Entourage to work with iSync. I didn’t. In case that wasn’t clear, I just dragged the cards to the desktop
The best place to start is with /Library/Scripts/Mail Scripts/Import Addresses.scpt, a script that will import your addresses from a variety of email programs and dump them into Addressbook.app.
Open that up, see what you can do. I’m sure someone can fix it up nicer than I can, but I’ll hack on it when I have some time. Note – it will ADD those items to your Addressbook, not SYNC them.
More to come, I’ll be doing some speed tests with the GPRS service – once its working again!
