Sprint Treo as Wireless Modem with Mac OS X

Admittedly it’s not Bluetooth enabled, and so you require the USB cable, but with all the posts about GPRS floating around I wanted to point out that it is possible to connect the Sprint Treo to a portable Mac as a wireless modem on their high-speed 1xRTT network. With the new Vision service, unlimited wireless data is $10 a month, and speeds are about twice dialup (i.e. in the range of 100+ kilobits). Furthermore, on top of all of that you get the excellent Handspring Treo with wireless email, web browsing, etc. This seems like a much better deal to me than the GSM/GPRS network options. For more info see the thread at Treo Central. Ed: I wish TMobile had that kind of pricing. $10/mo is much more likely to encourage people to use the service! -PK
