If you’re pondering an Apple Watch, you might not be able to insure it with State Farm.

According Rob Lee, who was following up on insurance coverage, an email inquiry as to whether State Farm would cover the forthcoming Apple Watch was met with the following reply:

Hi Rob,

State Farm is not able to insure the Apple Watch as it is too high of a risk. You may want to see if Apple offers insurance for the watch. To cover jewelry/watches you may want to increase the endorsement for jewelry on your Renters policy.

Have a great day!
Laura

It’s unknown as to whether State Farm will be unable to cover the entire range of Apple Watch units, which range from US$349 to US$10,000 and above. This may also differ based on your policy, its terms and your premium rate, so make sure you contact your provider if you have any questions or concerns.

If you’ve heard anything similar from State Farm or any other insurance providers, please let us know in the comments.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
