Adobe releases Photoshop Touch app for iPhone, iPod touch devices

The app you’ve been hankering for has arrived.

Per AppleInsider, Adobe on Wednesday officially released the latest iteration of its mobile Photoshop software, Photoshop Touch for Phone, bringing powerful image editing to the iPhone and iPod touch.

The app, which boasts features users of the desktop version have become accustomed to, including layers, adjustment tools and filters as well as the following bells and whistles:

– Improve your photos using classic Photoshop features to bring out the best in your photography. Apply precise tone and color adjustments to your entire composition, a particular layer, or a select area.

– Create something other-worldly using painting effects, filter brushes, and so much more. With Photoshop Touch, the creative possibilities are endless.

– Make your images pop with graphical text. Apply strokes, add drop shadows and fades, and more.

РTake advantage of your device’s camera to fill an area on a layer with the unique Camera Fill feature.

– Quickly combine images together. Select part of an image to extract just by scribbling with the Scribble Selection tool. With the Refine Edge feature, use your fingertip to easily capture hard-to-select image elements, like hair.

– Work on high-resolution images while maintaining the highest image quality. Images up to 12 megapixels are supported.

Buyers will also get access to Adobe Creative Cloud, which allows users to sync projects and switch between Photoshop mobile and desktop versions. The membership includes 2GB of Creative Cloud storage

Along with the image editing feature set and Creative Cloud integration, users can easily share their work with friends through via Facebook and Twitter, as well as the usual “save to camera roll” iOS compatibility.

The iOS version of the app weighs in at 32.2MB and requires iOS 6 running on an iPhone 5, iPhone 4S or fifth-generation iPod touch. Adobe Photoshop Touch for Phone is available now in the App Store for US$4.99.

Adobe releases Lightroom 4.4 release candidate beta

These Release Candidate updates, they are nifty…

Late Tuesday, Adobe offered a release candidate beta 4.4 of its Lightroom image editing program. The new version, a 441.4 megabyte download via MacUpdate, offers the following fixes and changes:

New Camera Support:
– Canon EOS 1D C

– Casio Exilim EX-ZR700

– Fujifilm X100s

– Fujifilm X20

– Hasselblad Lunar

– Leica M

– Nikon 1 V3

– Nikon 1 S1

– Pentax MX-1

Fixed Issues:
– The crop overlay tool resized incorrectly when used in conjunction with the “Constrain to Crop” checkbox in the Lens Correction panel.

– Background graphics were not correctly rendered within the Book Module.

– The supplied lens profile for the Sony RX-1 did not contain vignette information.

– Previews of photos in portrait orientation were blurry when viewed in the filmstrip in the Develop module. (Mac only)

– Stack badges displayed the wrong count when creating new stack that included a preexisting stack.

– The Filter scrollbar within the Library module was not rendering properly.

Adobe Lightroom 4.4 retails for US$149.00 and requires an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 or later to install and run.

Adobe releases Flash Player 11.6.602.175 beta

Hey, a reliable update never hurts.

Late Thursday, Adobe released Flash Player 11.6.602.175 for Mac OS X, a 16.9 megabyte download via MacUpdate as a pre-release beta. The new version adds the following fixes and changes:

Fixed Issues:
– External interface Javascript zero-day(3496801.)

– Microphone stops dispatching SampleDataEvents after repeated use(3499824).

New Features:
– Graphics Data Query.

– Improved permissions UI for full screen keyboard access.

– Multiple SWF support.

– Setting device specific Retina Display resolution.

– Updated File API following App Store guidelines.

– HiDpi support for FlashPro.

On Wednesday, Adobe released version 11.0.02 of its Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro applications. The updates, which can also be snagged through the Adobe Update Utility, add the following fixes and changes:

– This full installer provides mitigation for specific security issues. For additional release details, see the Release Notes.

Acrobat Reader 11.0.02 and Acrobat Pro 11.0.02 require an Intel-based processor and Mac OS X 10.6.4 or later to install and run.

You can’t knock a good update.

On Wednesday, Adobe released version 13.0.4 of its Photoshop CS6 image editing program. The new version, a 269.9 megabyte download (via MacUpdate), offers the following fix:

– The Adobe Photoshop 13.0.4 update enables support for new HiDPI displays on the Macintosh platform for a dramatic improvement in image fidelity and resolution. This update applies to all languages of Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Photoshop CS6 13.0.4 requires an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later to install and run.
