Tests find Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, HTC One M9 just as prone to bending as iPhone 6

Remember all the grief Apple and iPhone 6 owners went through last fall when they found that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus could be bent, thereby resulting in “Bendgate”?

The same is apparently true for Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone and the HTC One M9.

A recent video issued by third-party warranty firm SquareTrade showed the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge bending under no less than 110 pounds of pressure and the One M9 to bend at 120 lbs of pressure.

Although the Galaxy S6 Edge’s pressure limits are comparable to the iPhone 6 Plus’ testing, the Galaxy’s screen ended up cracking under the pressure instead of slightly bending similar to Apple’s plus-size iPhone model. The HTC One M9 lasted further than its two competitors, reaching 120 lbs of pressure, but the phone was rendered useless thanks to a faulty power button following the pressure test.

Testing to the point of “catastrophic failure”, the iPhone 6 Plus survived 179 lbs of pressure, beating out the Galaxy S6 Edge’s 149 lbs stress test. As SquareTrade points out, the Galaxy’s stress tests proves the phone could be worse for users due to the smartphone’s screen cracking under intense pressure.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.

It is well documented that iPhone 6 bends not in the middle like the rest of the phones, but around the volume button. How much force can iPhone bear there before permanently bending? Lets see:

Yeah 30 kg of force, while Galaxy S6 can hold 50kg. Almost double.
That is why even kids could bend the iPhone in the Apple Store.

I am actually happy for samsung, this will definitely make the s6 and samsung more popular no matter in a good or bad way. Laugh everyone, share to everywhere you want, make this viral, and I’m sure this will make the s6 launch even more popular. 😀
