Sonnet Technologies has reduced the price of their Crescendo/WS G3 processor card to US$300 — what better excuse to start talking about processor upgrades? The Crescendo could be a welcome boost for an older PowerBook G3, with 500 MHz G3 processor and 1M backside cache running at 250 MHz, a big improvement over, for example, a 233/512k/117 PowerBook G3 Series model.
