Where are the 512 MB SO-DIMMs?

So you have a brand-spankin’ new PowerBook G4 Titanium speed demon and now you want to crank the thing all the way up to 1 GB of RAM. The problem is that you can’t find a vendor that is shipping the 512 MB SO-DIMMs required to do the job. What gives?

According to one RAM vendor that we spoke to:

The 512mb modules require a 512MegaBit IC chip, which is a module that nobody has succeeeded in manufacturing in volume yet. As soon as those IC’s hit the market, we will have the 512mb PBG3Ti module on the market.

Are you prepared to buy the beasts when they are available? What has your RAM vendor told you about the 512 MB strips?
