X Apps: iTunes Remote

What’s a week here without one great OS X app to play with? This week, it’s gotta be iTunes Remote. An application with a floating window to control iTunes sounds like nothing revolutionary, but insane customizability is key: choose which buttons you want displayed, from one play button to all of them, choose vertical or horizontal orientation, scale the size of the interface to whatever you want, use global key commands, choose a number of custom skins or design your own, scan through songs (f. forward/rewind), even control iTunes remotely over a network! A contextual menu offers additional options the buttons don’t like EQ and shuffle controls. iTunes Remote is the best $5 I’m likely to spend this week, even if that mandarin chicken salad yesterday at Wendy’s was good.
