First off, CompUSA reports that ALL its US locations will have the free CD.You’ll apparently need proof-of-purchase showing you own OS X 10.0. There’sno mention of what qualifies as proof of purchase, and no mention of thisrequirement on Apple’s site, so we’ll see what that means.
Philly-area readers, take note: here’s the word from Springboard Media’sDavid Hughes. “I wanted to let you know that we will have both full retail copies ofOS X 10.1 and also update CDs for existing owners of MacOS X available atits release on Saturday. We will be open from 11am to 5pm, and I must notethat the number of update CDs are limited, so we will be operating on a firstcome, first served basis. In the event of unexpectedly high amounts of demand, customers who have previously purchased OS X or a Macintosh with OS X fromSpringboard Media will have priority. We will also have computers runningOS X 10.1 on display for those that want to give the greatest operating systemfor the Macintosh yet a try!”Springboard is located at 2212 Walnut Street,Philadelphia, PA 19103.
According to a Columbus, OH reader, MicroCenter will also have the CD.
The offers lasts until October 31 or while supplies last, so if you sadlyhave other engagements this Saturday, don’t fear! Stay tuned to Go2Mac formore updates. And let us know your experience / event info — post to theNewswire, as always.
