Salling Clicker isn’t the only way to control your Mac via Bluetooth devices. You can use Romeo for free, and install a slick application called Veta on your Palm OS handheld or Series60 mobile phone. Now you can use your Palm or your Nokia 3650 and get very similar functionality. –Emory

As each application that is developed for the Macintosh grows in popularity, so do the number of add-ons, and extensions that supposedly enhance the program in some way, shape or form. Apple?s iTunes, music playing software allows for the playing and encoding of audio in a variety of different formats ? mainly mp3. But third-party developers never seem to be content with the program as is, and have added many additions to iTunes, including alternative visualizers, playlist plug-ins or controllers. Many of these additions seem to be flunks, except for Synergy, which should be awarded the first place trophy of iTunes extras.

Dan Brockett has written a free tutorial on Apple Soundtrack, the loop-based composition tool included with Final Cut Pro 4 and available now as standalone software. Dan’s tutorial goes over instructions for beginners who are new to music-making and digital audio, but there’s intermediate and advanced information, too, plus tips and downloadable finished projects and media. Brockett is a writer/director/producer.

We’ve talked about some of the wear and tear that can occur on the Titanium PowerBook G4 15″ laptops, especially early models. Our friend Troy Kingsbury at Small Dog Electronics has figured out how to repair Titaniums that come unglued, have latch problems, or get scratched so you can finally make your Ti as good as new again. I liked his tips so much I got special permission to reprint it here on the PowerPage.

Sony Ericsson has a new GSM handset coming down the pipeline. Is it a special edition T610? All signs point to “yes”. The T620 is a color handset with Bluetooth and a different look.
