  • Apple states that some 2018 iPad Pro bending is normal, does not affect performance

    Following up on a previous story in which a number of users found their 11-inch and 12.9-inch 2018 iPad Pro tablets bending under only moderate force, Apple has stated that a slight bend isn’t out of the ordinary.

    Apple stated that some 2018 iPad Pro models are indeed shipping with a “very slight bend in the aluminum chassis,” which is a “side effect of the manufacturing process” that is not expected to worsen over time or negatively effect the iPad’s performance “in any practical way.”

    The company says that the bend itself is caused by a cooling process involving the iPad Pro’s metal and plastic components during manufacturing and is not considered to be a defect.

  • Apple offers largely gift card-focused Black Friday through Cyber Monday deals

    Apple has kicked off its Black Friday deals and seems to be largely focusing on coupons once again.

    Once again, it seems to be offering the gift cards in addition to purchases of its devices. This year, the promotion runs from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, November 23 through November 26.

  • B&H Photo offers bevy of Black Friday sale on wide array of Apple products

    Black Friday is in full swing and the cool humans at B&H Photo are essentially discounting everything up to and including the kitchen sink with their DealZone event.

  • Some 2018 11-inch, 12.9-inch iPad Pro units may be susceptible to bending with only a moderate amount of force

    While the new 11-inch and 12.9 inch iPad Pro units are the thinnest Apple tablets yet, measuring in at only 5.9mm in thickness, a number of user complaints and a new bend test video suggest that the tablets might bend under only a moderate amount of force.

    Over on the MacRumors forums, forum member “Bwrin1” posted a photo of a bent 12.9-inch iPad Pro suggesting it had bent from just a weekend trip in a backpack.

    And, on YouTube, YouTuber JerryRigEverything posted the following bend test video of the new iPad Pro, which indicates it has the potential to bend with a limited amount of force.
