If you’re looking to get into AI-based animation on your Mac, this could be awesome.
Apple has announced that the company is working on Apple Keyframer, a new artificial intelligence tool that could allow users to create animations. The tool could allow for animations to create animations with nothing more than a still image and text instruction.
Apple has long been criticized for apparently being left behind in the AI field. People complained that Siri hasn’t evolved to keep pace with smarter intelligent assistants from Google and Amazon.
VentureBeat has also noted that Apple researchers have published another paper for manipulating graphics using text commands. The paper noted that the technology could use graphics professionals as a target market, allowing them to quickly test out ideas before beginning to work on them.
Apple has stated that Keyframer is more powerful than existing tools which aim to do the same thing because it’s possible to refine ideas – either using more text prompts or manually editing the CSS code generated by the AI system.
Keyframer is currently at a very early stage in its development right now, and may not see a public release until later this year when Apple is expected to make a significant leap in its AI efforts with iOS 18. Still, something cool could be on the horizon, depending on how development goes.
