“Amnesty Bin” Contest Winners Announced

Ok, the results are in and the judges have chosen the five best comments to the Microsoft “Amnesty Bin” contest.
As mentioned in Friday’s article, the “Amnesty Bin” is a large plastic bin located in the Microsoft Zune development team’s headquarters. Employees have been encouraged to ditch their current iPods and go exclusively with the Zunes they’ve been working on.

Whether this has been a joke or a morale booster, no one’s quite sure.
So, here we go with the top five comments which we feel best describe the situation:
“How to get iPods for free.” – Sharpe
“We bit off more than we could chew.” – Drew Skinner
“And every night after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer went home, the Zune team would go and get their iPods back from the bin.” – Geekmouth
“I thought it was a battery recycling bin for older iPods…” – airboyd
“15 Down….50 Million to Go….” – Dave
“Fill this bin by noon or Ballmer dies.” – Samuel Maffei
Thanks for participating and if anyone has a contact within the Zune team’s offices that can shed more light on the Amnesty Bin, we’d love to hear about it.
Congratulations to the winners and if your entry wasn’t selected, we’ve got plenty of chances for fame, fortune and cool prizes in the future.
