Apple Embraces Long Islanders: The Roosevelt Field Mall Store Opens

WIDTH=On Saturday I went to yet another Apple Store Opening, this time at the Roosevelt Field Mall (click for pictures). This is Apple’s first attempt at a “mini” retail store. The store is much smaller than other stores, sporting a compact digital hub section, genius bar, and software section among others.

I was able to get Roosevelt Field Mall Apple Store shirt (very cool!), but other than this the Apple Store seemed just the same as any other one. Although these stories are starting to repeat themselves, and they are losing the same initial appeal that they once held when I visited my first Apple Store, I think that they are a great way to attract newcomers to the Mac. I like how Apple positions these stores in popular malls, which draw a lot of attention by casual shoppers, and Mac fiends the like.
