Apple raises AppleCare+ enrollment times to one year after purchase for most countries

You now have a bit more time to upgrade to AppleCare+ if need be.

Apple informed its retail and customer support employees on Monday that the company will increase the AppleCare+ subscription window up to one year. This comes in response to sluggish sales of the service.

AppleCare+ is the premium-tier technical support package that covers accidental damage for Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone, and Mac. Customers will need their devices to be examined by an Apple retail employee before they can buy an AppleCare+ subscription to look for signs of damage.

The extended coverage applies to most countries and regions that currently support AppleCare+, albeit Japan is exempt from this. Apple’s web site has noted that within Japan, the time period is 30 days after a device purchase, although the page is likely to be updated with the new information.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
