Apple releases first Release Candidate betas for macOS Big Sur 11.4, iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, tvOS 14.6, and watchOS 7.5

On Monday, Apple released the first Release Candidate betas, with developers now being able to download, install, and test the fourth builds of iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, tvOS 14.6, and watchOS 7.5.

The builds can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center for enrolled beta testers, or via an over-the-air update on devices running the beta software. Public betas typically arrive within a few days of the developer versions, via the Apple Beta Software Program website.

Release notes have indicated that podcast subscriptions will be included in this release, as well as an Apple Card Family feature which is being issued for pre-release testing.

It’s recommended that users don’t install the betas on “mission-critical” or primary devices. Instead, users are encouraged to install betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to back up critical data before updating.

If you’ve had a chance to try the Release Candidates, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
