Apple Releases Third-Generation iPod Shuffle

Apple on Wednesday introduced the third generation of its iPod shuffle music player, the smallest of its iPod line and now nearly half the size of the previous generation.
According to Macworld, the new Shuffle boasts a feature called VoiceOver, which enables the uniot to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names. The shuffle can speak 14 languages including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
The new unit’s controls are now located entirely on the earphone cord and allow users to play, pause, adjust volume, switch playlists and hear the name of the song and artist. The iPod can also provide information regarding battery life on the fly.
According to Apple, the third generation iPod shuffle is significantly smaller than a AA battery and holds up to 1,000 songs.
The new iPod shuffle is available in silver or black and features a built-in stainless steel clip. The unit is available immediately and retails for US$79.
