Apple Two-Button Bluetooth Optical Mouse

Apple two-button mouseI think it’s about time Apple sucked it up and gave us an Apple designed and branded two-button mouse. I’m a long time PC user and I recently made the switch to Mac OS (finally!) and bought a PowerBook G4 17-inch only to find I had to buy a third party two-button mouse to be able to take advantage of the two-button mouse support in OS X (which I couldn’t live without, being so used to the ease and functionality on my PC). Apple two-button mouseI think it’s about time Apple sucked it up and gave us an Apple designed and branded two-button mouse. I certainly would’ve rather had an Apple two-button mouse that matched the look and high-end design of my PowerBook.
Then a rather simple and I think obvious design concept for an Apple two-button mouse occurred to me, so I decided to mock it up quickly in Photoshop.
This would be the coolest mouse in history and I’d certainly buy one. I’d kill to be able to use this “ScrollPad”, which serves the same function as the scroll wheels on PC 2-button mouses, but with the sleek and simple Apple style and slick functionality of the iPod touch wheel. Take a look and let me know what you think. If you’re an Apple engineer…please design and build this (or something better) and I won’t charge a penny 🙂
