BIAS, Inc. has announced pricing and availability for the first professional audio tools to hit OS X: Peak and Deck. The OS X versions, when they ship, will be free to anyone who purchased currently shipping versions after October 1.

“With our fast track Mac OS X development efforts moving full steam ahead, we felt the time was right to make this bold proactive initiative.” said Jason Davies, VP of Worldwide Sales for BIAS. “Offering free upgrades to the Mac OS X versions of our industry standard audio software resolves any questions about when and what to buy for the Mac audio customer – the time is now for Peak and Deck.”

Currently under development, the Mac OS X versions of Peak and Deck will feature support for Apple’s new Core Audio functionality, complement the Aqua graphic user interface, and take advantage of the numerous benefits of Mac OS X – such as pre-emptive multi-tasking, protected memory, and support for next generation multi-client multi-channel audio hardware. Peak 3 for Mac OS X – which will also run under Mac OS 9 – will be released in late November with Deck 3.5 for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 soon to follow.

Current Product Availability: Mac OS 9 compatible versions of Peak and Deck are currently available for purchase through authorized resellers worldwide including major US music industry dealers, select computer resellers, Apple’s own chain of new retail stores in the U.S., and direct from BIAS.

Free upgrade offer to Mac OS X versions of Peak and Deck does not apply to upgrades from previous versions of Peak and Deck or OEM bundled versions. Customers must submit proof of purchase in the form of an original copy of the sales receipt dated 10/01/2001 or later to qualify. Offer subject to change without notice.
