It’ll be 169 clams for AppleCare+ coverage for your new iMac Pro.

Apple has announced that AppleCare+, which extends your iMac Pro’s warranty from one to three years, will retail for $169. This is cheaper than the AppleCare+ policy for an iPhone X and also reduces the cost of some repairs. If you have a Mac notebook and the display fails, for example, AppleCare+ more than pays for itself.

Late last week, Apple published a support document explaining how OLEd displays function and that it is normal to see some screen burn-in over time and shifts in color when looking at the iPhone display from an off-angle.

The company described the display, when viewed from a side angle, as possibly presenting shifts in color and hue, something that’s a “characteristic of OLED” and “normal behavior.”

The document stated that with extended long-term use, OLED displays can show “slight visual changes,” which is also considered normal. The iPhone X has been engineered to be the “best in industry” at reducing burn-in effects, but Apple’s support document suggests burn-in is still a problem that some users could potentially see over time.

Alongside Tuesday’s announcements of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, Apple has also increased the price of some AppleCare+ warranties, as well as out-of-pocket repair and replacement costs for every recent iPhone model.

The cost of an AppleCare+ warranty has jumped from $129 to $149 for the iPhone 6s Plus, 7 Plus, and 8 Plus. For the iPhone X a plan will cost a record $199, likely because of the potential expense of replacing its 5.8-inch OLED panel.

Non-warrantied screen repairs for the iPhone 6 and iPhone Se have jumped from $99 to $129 and the cost for the iPhone 6s and 7 screen repair is up $20 to $149. All Plus-series phones are $20 more expensive at $169.
