  • 1Password receives update, now offers “Travel Mode” feature

    This could come in handy.

    Following an update pushed out last week, 1Password now includes a new feature that lets users selectively erase local data for maximum protection while traveling.

    The new “Travel Mode” feature erases all vaults/user profiles with the exception of those marked “safe for travel” from devices connected to a 1Password account. Users can later restore their full list of vaults with another click once they arrive.

  • Apple Pay goes live in Italy

    Apple Pay has come to Italy.

    The service is now available within the country, allowing for Visa and MasterCards issued by Boon, Carrefour, and UniCredit to be used with Apple Pay in Italy. Per the Apple Pay web site, support for additional banks will be added later this year.

    Rumors of Apple Pay’s expansion to Italy have been circulating for several weeks as Apple worked to add support for its payments service in the country, and the service has been listed as “Coming Soon” on the Apple Pay Italy site since March.

  • Google Assistant app released for iOS

    The Google Assistant app has come to iOS.

    Google announced the release of its Assistant app for iOS at its I/O developer conference today. The virtual assistant will arrive soon as a standalone app for iPhone, initially for users in the US. Previously the Siri competitor was only available through its Allo messaging app and for Android and Google Home devices.

  • Apple releases iOS 10.3.2, watchOS 3.2.2 and tvOS 10.2.1

    If you’re in the mood for updates, this is your lucky week.

    Apple has released iOS 10.3.2, an update that contains bug fixes and security enhancements.

    The update weighs in around 196.4 megabytes and can be installed either through iOS’s Software Update feature or iTunes.

  • Rumor: Apple to announce Siri-connected speaker system, 10.5-inch iPad Pro at WWDC

    It’s a rumor, but there might be some truth to it.

    KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that there is a more than 50% chance of Apple releasing a Siri Speaker, an all-new category for the company, at the Worldwide Developers Conference starting June 5th. In addition, he says that there is more than 70% chance of an all-new design 10.5-inch iPad Pro to be announced at the keynote.

    Along with this, Apple is expected to make inevitable operating system announcements in the form of iOS 11, macOS 10.13, tvOS 11 and watchOS 4. KGI has not offered insight into what functionality or changes the new software will bring but it does include some notes about the predicted hardware unveilings.
