While staying at home from work one day, NoBeige reader Brian Parr was flipping through the channels when he saw something interesting. Here’s his account:
I stayed home sick from work today, had a virus for a few days now, and as I was flipping through the stations just after 11am CST I heard Rod Parsley announce, “The first item up for bid today is a NEW COMPUTER!!!” Enter evening-dress clad model fondling a blueberry iMac bundled with what looked like a matching color printer. Excellent, we’re on the Price is Right!! Anyone could guess what happened next. That’s right , all of the contestants overbid. The closest was at $200 over . The highest was $1700. Man I wished I had been there in the audience today. On the second round of bids someone got it with a bid of $1350 (The actual retail value was $1365, everyone else overbid again except for the girl that bid $1. That’s what I would have done first time around). Funny, after seeing that I’m starting to feel better.
P.S. I am not a regular game show watcher or addict or anything like that and I DID NOT stay home to watch the Price is Right today, honest.
