Epson is mailing some readers detailed information on long-awaited drivers for its printers under OS X 10.1. The official message from Epson is as follows:
Epson has been and continues to be fully committed to supporting theMacintosh market, including support for the Mac OS X operating system.Therefore we are pleased to update you on our progress in the developmentof OS X-compatible drivers.
We had eagerly been awaiting the availability of OS 10.1 because it willenable us to offer more compatible products with greater functionality thanwould have been possible under the initial release of the system. As soonas we received this updated version of the operating system the last weekof September, our engineers were able to move forward aggressively with thedevelopment of drivers that will support OS X.
As a result, we are pleased to announce that we will have updated driversfor several of our printers ready in just a few weeks, with additionaldrivers to follow in subsequent weeks. These drivers will be available onour website for customers to download as noted below:

Butwe believe that by taking time to wait for the more fully featuredoperating system and subsequently taking time to properly develop and testeach driver to our exacting standards, our printers will continue toprovide the best image quality with OS X, as they do with other operatingsystems.
