Glow Different

Several readers feel that Lombard’s logo illumination is no big deal, since the apples on some older Wallstreets and PDQs also glow. There is, however, a significant difference between the illumination on older PowerBook G3s and the new Lombards. The glow that emanates from the apple on older models is merely the result of light which escapes through the back of the LCD screen. In the Lombard model, Apple has gone as far as to remove shielding from behind the white apple and to add a diffuser behind it, which results in a more noticeable, brighter glow on Lombard PowerBooks, the best part: there is no penalty on your battery.
