Google advises users to update Chrome browser immediately to avoid “high severity” zero-day vulnerability

Google is presently advising that all Chrome users, no matter what platform they’re using, update their web browser immediately.

The update helps patch a zero-day vulnerability that is being actively exploited.

In a tweet published on Tuesday, Google Chrome Security and Desktop Engineering Lead Justin Schuh advised that all users should update to the latest version of the browser – version 72.0.3636.121 – immediately.

In order to update, just click on the “Chrome” menu, click “About Google Chrome” and the browser’s updater will check for the newest version of the software.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
