Just when you thought Azeroth was safe from all those nightmarish axe-swinging Orcs, Blizzard Entertainment came right back at ya with their Warcraft III announcement (“BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES WARCRAFT III“)over the weekend. Being touted as a “role-playing strategy game,” the emphasis in Warcraft III is no longer large armies but just a small group of units, much in the way of Bungie’s Myth series. The eye-candy involved here is absolutely stunning with just about every 3D buzzword thrown in for good measure. Here’s a taste of the featureset:
- Advanced world design tools allowing players to customize every aspect of the game including tile sets, character art, quests, mission objectives, and unit types, AI, attributes, special abilities and spells.
