Huge PB Discounts for Military Personnel

Remember our story about the new Army/Air Force Service Exchange selling iBooks and PowerBooks at a discount? Well folks, this one gets better.

Remember our story about the new Army/Air Force Service Exchange selling iBooks and PowerBooks at a discount? Well folks, this one gets better.

I have a Wallstreet 300 PDQ that’s finally showing it’s age. I’ve traveled with it extensively that past three years and I’m now having problems with the power management when on battery power. If it’s a sleep or while using it on battery only and I push too hard in on the battery or CD expansion bay drive the machine shuts down and then needs the power cord plugged in to restart. Not good when I’m trying to listen to iTunes while on the airplane with my Bose headphones.

So I’ve decided to buy the iBook because of it’s size for airplane travel versus the TiBook (which is also more money). The US$100 Apple rebate put the icing on the cake.

But it gets better.

I’ve recently retired from the service the military exchange store has an online catalog service and offers many Apple computers including the new iBook. They order directly from Apple and offer free shipping and no sales tax. PLUS, you get 10% off your first order online. PLUS PLUS, if you sign up for a military exchange credit card you also get 10% off your first day purchase using the card and get 3 months same as cash.

So let’s do the math. The iBook 600 w/DVD/CDRW goes for $1689.00. Less 20% plus the $100 Apple Rebate my price with shipping is:

$1251.00
