iBook AirPort and the French Army


It seems that the Apple iBook’s wireless Internet connectivity may hit some snags in being introduced in France because the frequency which the iBook uses, 2.4 GHz, requires authorization from the French Army for individual use. While authorization is regularly granted for small, local, fixed-base installations typical of internal networking schemes, the French Army has a problem with how light and portable the iBook is.
