Once again, the coolest of cats over at iFixit have come through with teardown goodness, dissecting a brand new 2015/sixth-generation iPod touch to see what they could find.

The exterior of the device looks largely the same as the previous generation, but it’s the new guts of the device that make the difference.

During the teardown, the iFixit guys found the following:

– An A8 processor that had been underclocked compared to the iPhone version.

– 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM.

– A battery rated at 1043 mah.

– No external screws, ample use of adhesive inside the iPod touch.

– A smaller f/24 aperture.

– An 8 MP FaceTime camera.

As always, head over to the iFixit site for the full teardown and if you’ve gotten your paws on the new iPod touch, please let us know what you think in the comments.
