iOS 10.2 and later now include Emergency SOS feature

This could help keep you safe.

iOS 11 now includes an SOS feature which allows you to make emergency calls with three clicks of your iPhone’s sleep/wake button. Just click this button between sleep and wake mode three times and your iPhone will use your GPS coordinates to notify local emergency services.

You can find preferences for the feature under the general Settings feature, whereupon you can configure a countdown sound and whether emergency services require three or find clips of the sleep/wake button to activate. Users can also configure their medical information, which can be sent along to emergency services as well.

Once configured, this can notify local emergency services and notify your emergency contacts as well.

With the holidays approaching, please stay safe out there!
