iTunes Music Store Europe Delayed

The Independent reports yesterday that Apple’s attempt to launch a European version of its online iTunes Music Store has been delayed until next year because of disputes between artists and record labels. Artists in Europe apparently have different contracts than US artists containing more complex licensing agreements, and sometimes no provision for digital downloads. With European labels also suffering from piracy, they’re sure to feel some pressure to find a solution.
