Lombard Built-to-Order Option in Question

Despite previous reports (based on Apple’s Web site), it looks like Lombard will not be available in Built-to-order (BTO) configurations at the Apple Store. Several conversations with Apple Store representatives confirmed that there are no plans to offer the 333 and 400 MHz PowerBook G3s with larger hard drives, more RAM or FireWire PC cards in the immediate future. The PowerPage thinks that this will change after Lombard begins shipping for a month or two, as this is exactly what happened with the original PowerBook G3 Series.
