.Mac Made Me Do It

This morning I was trying to POP my iTools email account using Yahoo, as usual. However, I was repeatedly given the message that mac.com was unexpectedly terminating the connection and no mail was imported into Yahoo. So, I decided to try the Web mail feature of .Mac and see if that worked. I successfully logged in using my user name and password and viewed my email online – then, miraculously I was able to POP the same email, like I always could, using Yahoo.

It seems that Apple just wanted me to login so that I would have to agree to the revised terms and conditions of .Mac that will switch to a paid service in 63 days.

I wish Apple spent the equivalent amount of time and effort reminding me of how much longer I have to sign up for three-year AppleCare before my original one-year warranty expires. I’ve never received email on that subject, have you?
