MacVroom.com is a Web site dedicated to helping people learn about integrating and installing a Mac mini in their car. We provide helpful hardware and software reviews, real world installation tips, and a user contributed forum. Our team of Mac-heads follow all the latest news on mobile Mac computing and provide valuable insight to help our readers make the right choices.
When Apple introduced the Mac mini, we knew its small form factor would lend itself to installation in areas with limited space – like a car. We ordered up a custom configured Mac mini and began planning our in-car installation. During this “investigation” phase we found lots of information scattered all over the net on installing computers in cars, but no single source dedicated to the Macintosh platform. This led us to developing a site where we could share our installation process and report on all the information we learn along the way. Hopefully, MacVroom.com will be the source for users to find all the information they need to Mac their rides!
We are really excited about this new realm of Mac computing and entertainment. We have heard from many Mac enthusiasts that are already in the process of installing their own system (and a few pioneers who have already finished their installs). There are manufactures and developers keyed into this burgeoning field and are developing hardware and software products to cater to in-car Macintosh usage. Everyone we talk with, is enthusiastic about the possibilities opened by Macintosh OS X platform – it’s is truly an excellent platform to build a complete mobile media system. We are just at the beginning of this new venture and can’t wait to see what is in store for the platform.
