In regards to MobileStar providing free Airport-compatible wireless Internet at NYC Starbucks in the wake of the tragedy here last week, a couple more discoveries for you. First, MobileStar apparently is providing free access outside Manhattan. Their Bronxville location in Westchester County was not asking for logins. And it’s worth trying in any metro NYC Starbucks; while some are well-marked as having MobileStar access, others (36th and Madison for instance) have no signage at all.
Also, of urgent need for those of you using this service to stay in touch with loved ones, if you have trouble sending outgoing mail, try mail.mobilestar.com as your SMTP server.
