MWSF 02: Live Lets You Jam on X

Ableton‘s radical new software Live has arrived on OS X via a free update for Live for OS 9 users being shown now at Macworld. Live is the only audio sequencer geared toward live performance (truly, a package that has created its own product category). By recording, launching, stretching and compressing sound files and loops, syncing rhythm, and applying effects in real time, all via keyboard hotkeys or MIDI, Live lets you create on-the-spot music easily, and promises to be the cure for “sequenced in advance” music lurking behind PowerBook screens at so many concerts these days. Midiman distributes Live in the US for $299.
