Apple has two new TIL articles, “PowerBook 5300 and 190: Troubleshooting No Power On Symptom” and “PowerBook G3 Series: Upgrading Memory,” which offer some step-by-step instructions on how to install memory and troubleshoot a 5300 or 190, respectively. The articles are convenient to have online, though they seem to be the same instructions that you get in the manuals that come with the respective PowerBooks.
